The concept behind Premier Auto by Rent was initially launched by one of the partners in the system, Auto by Rent, of Springfield, Missouri. They began to offer customers a rent-to-own used car program nearly six years ago. It provided a quality vehicle, backed by a good warranty, with the option to own the vehicle at the end of the rental term, and all at an affordable cost. Their industry-leading program has continued to grow since then, and today ranks as the one of the nation’s leading dealers in the rent-to-own used vehicle industry.
In the fall of 2008, The Premier Companies approached Auto by Rent, to explore how the concept could be advanced through the development of a franchise system. Their President, Mr. Wayne Lewis, agreed and has now become President of the new franchise organization. While the franchise system offers significant opportunities for investors from all areas, it has particular appeal in meeting the challenges of existing owners and operators of buy-here-pay-here lots.
Today, Premier Auto by Rent offers a system that allows our dealers to engage in long-term lease/rental of used motor vehicles. The system assists the dealers to secure business financing, training, proper licensure, tax status, insurance coverage, and necessary administrative compliance. These, plus many other system features, allow Premier Auto by Rent’s dealers to successfully rent/lease vehicles to car shoppers who are otherwise unable to secure the credit necessary to purchase a vehicle.
